Should You Move on Truck Rental Insurance?

Image
By Diane Tait When I was in my twenties, I moved so often they should have named a Ryder truck after me.   Nowadays, I’m more likely to hire a mover to take care of the entire process if I decided to move.   However, I still have a few friends and clients who prefer to do it themselves when they move either their residence or small business.   So, I thought it would be a good idea to explore the ins and outs of truck rental insurance.

What You Don’t Know About Motorcycle Insurance Can Make You an Uneasy Rider

Image
By Diane Tait Motorcycle owners in Florida are blessed since they can pretty much ride year around.   That makes it easy to take your bike out for a road trip when most everyone else in the country is shoveling snow.   But what makes many bikers uneasy is not knowing what is and isn’t covered on their motorcycle policies.   So, I thought I’d take the time to answer some of the questions all you bike owners may have.

Who Needs Cyber Security Insurance?

Image
By Diane Tait You see and hear about them on the news every week. Cybersecurity breaches are no longer the stuff of science fiction.   When they occur to Fortune 500 companies and millions of consumer records are compromised, they make the headlines.   What isn’t publicized is the fact that thousands of smaller businesses are hacked every day and the numbers are growing.   So too are the damages caused by hackers.   No matter how prepared the average business is, once hackers set their sites on gaining access it’s only a matter of time before data is compromised, malware is planted, and/or a server is locked down by a DDOS attack or ransomware.   What’s worse is the fact that the ransom demanded by hackers has skyrocketed from an average of $10,000 per incident in 2019 to more than $200,000 in 2020.   Once your system has been infected, it could be days, weeks, or months before your business is back in business.

Snow Survival Tips & Tricks

Image
By Diane Tait I know what you’re thinking.   Since I live in Florida where it pretty much never snows, why am I dedicating this week’s blog to snow survival?   If you’ve seen the news today, the Northeast just got hit by one of the worst snowstorms in the past decade.   We’re talking up to five feet of snow in some places. Since I have friends and family in the northeast and have driven from JAX to Jersey on many occasions, I thought to myself, “What would I have done if I got caught in a snowstorm during the Christmas break when I last made the trip?”   I hate to tell you, but you don’t have to go that far north of the Florida/Georgia line to hit snow.   Even Atlanta gets snow from time to time.   Considering that we Floridians haven’t got snow tires or chains, let alone an ice scraper or a snow shovel in our trunks, I thought it best if I gave all of you a tip or two to help you get out of trouble should you ever find yourself in a snowstorm.
